Yes. your title about sums it up.(some of the photography did remind me however of "hand" (I think his name was) from The Adams Family.

I hadn't thought of that, but it certainly does ! :)
The various camera angles on Petrouchka were fascinating. Weissenberg uses no extraneous motion - very still hands. His fingers look like they're made of steel.
