"In addition to the traditional piano solos and duets at a recital, family and friends in the audience will be treated to an unusual music event. This kind of concert is becoming very popular, though it can be a nightmare to work out by planners. The "monster" part of the concert involves multiple pianos being played at the same time, with two or even three pianists playing at each piano. Dr. Paul Taylor, associate professor of music at Morehead State University, says it might be more accurate to call it a "piano symphony" since there are typically 10 to 20 pianos being played at the same time."
