The Vermont Symphony Orchestra is benefiting from the state budget surplus. It's reported that the VSO will receive $25,000 to help with the cost of buy a concert grand piano for the orchestera:
"That is just great," said Eleanor Long, orchestra manager, on Monday upon learning of the state appropriation. She said the purchase of the used 9-foot Steinway Concert Grand, which the state says has a total price tag of $60,000, would fill a great void for the orchestra.
